So, today I saw a lot of butts. Yuck! I volunteer at a hospital and I was in the OR today and today happened to be Gastrointestinal Day aka GI day.

Honestly, everyone and their mother had a Colonoscopy today.

I’m glad today is over, but it was incredibly educational. Did you know that you can see the liver from inside the colon? It is actually the shadow of the liver which is cool. I was able to see the appendix and the removal of a lot of polyps.

Umm… So yeah. That is what I spent my day doing; well that and homework…

I was just looking at my iTunes and I have realized that I am okay keeping my old blue iPod mini. I mean I have 642 songs on it and still like a gig and a half to use up.

Honestly, if I listened to all of the songs on my iPod it would take me nearly two days. The sad part is I don’t even like all of the songs on my iPod. I need to compact the songs on my iPod so that I like every single song and don’t have to skip through 3 or 4 to get to one that I like.

So, my plans are to do just that.

As for those people with 80gig iPods- I mean that is really cool and I wouldn’t mind having one… but the only way I could fill it up is with shows and stuff and that is what I have my laptop for…

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher told my mother that I was going to become a doctor and my sister was going to marry a doctor.

I know that this was simply in jest, but when I was growing up, all I wanted to do was to become a doctor. I want to go to college and get a degree in pre-med and then go to graduate school, get my M.D. and specialize in neurosurgery.

To some it looks like I have it all planned out. To an extent I do.

Tonight my mother and I were talking about medicine and why I wanted to become a neurosurgeon. What answer can I give? How can I say, “I want to become a neurosurgeon because that is what I’ve wanted to become my entire life?” How can I say, “I know that out of all the fields in medicine, neurosurgery, for me, is the most interesting and it is the one field that I know I want to spend the next 15 years of my life working on to learn. It is the one thing that I know I will be able to get out of bed at whatever time and I will look forward to helping the people who need it most.”

I am honestly just at a loss of what I can tell my mother. I know people sometimes say, “She/He/They won’t understand.” Truly, I think this is one of those times. My explanation would simply not be good enough.

Robert Fritz, an American author, once stated, “If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise.” I know that I have not limited my choices. I know that I will not compromise for what I want professionally.

What I want the most is to honestly become a neurosurgeon so that I will be able to help people that not many are able to in the first place.

Sucks. It really really sucks, but I know it is meant to be good for me; you know keep my IQ from falling and prevent me from forgetting everything that I learned over the past year.

No matter how much I get accomplished, I still feel like I have so much stuff left to do. For me, school starts back up in late August, so I only have about a month left to finish EVERYTHING! AGH!!!

But, yeah. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like to learn and I work hard, but just for a second I would like a break. I volunteer, I help clean the house, work outside so the lawn looks nice, and I do homework.

I am so ready for college. I have a feeling that this last year though is going to fly by and I can’t wait for it to be over.

So, I’m not going to directly characterize myself to you. You’ll have to find out more about me through my posts and interpret what they say about me. If I tell you who I am, that would just be too simple.

I have created this “blog” as a means to communicate my feelings and plans for the future, as well as my thoughts on current or past issues. So, yeah. That is about it.

Hopefully though, I will find a layout I like and then I can spruce up my page.
